To make a donation, please just click the large button above. Further below, there is a description of some special donation opportunities connected to the Culinary Institute Project, such as sponsoring a college bench, or a college dorm.
With the large sums needed to buy and build an entire college campus, we must be serious about fundraising, and there are a number of ways to contribute. Of course any donations, no matter how small are always welcome, but we also have a few special opportunities for you as well.
Firstly, we will making a serious effort to bring you the original artworks produced by the Project in various forms, as posters, chef’s hats, etc., etc. This Project has just begun, so we have started with some products based on the Project Insignia, such as bento-boxes, kitchen aprons, and more. All of these exclusive Project offerings can be found on our Shop page right here.
There is also the Lakṣmīprasād Battalion of Fundraisers, for those who want to really get into the fundraising. More information about the Battalion can be found right here.
Lastly, there are the three Mystic Orders, for those who would like to make a donation every month until the Project is completed, or make a large one-time donation. More information about the Mystic Orders can be found right here.
We also have some special opportunities, like naming a dorm after yourself, or buying a dining seat for the Grand Opening Dinner.
$1008 Donation
At the $1008 donation level, the following gifts and recognitions are available:
- A “Lakṣmī Blessing” granting a 10 percent discount on tuition for one of your future descendants (we will send a Certificate, and also keep an internal record of who has received these).
- An artistic-commissioned, high-quality college bench on campus sponsored and named after you, with a lovely plaque in the head of the bench (limited to 54). (Practically the Deal of the Century!).
- A seat and magnificent dinner at the Grand Opening first night of the Signature Restaurant (limited to 54). The Grand Opening theme will be “The Very Best of Lord Krishna’s Cuisine,” featuring some of the finest dishes from Mother Yamunā’s Award-Winning Cookbook.
Receiving multiple gifts of the same type for multiple donations is not a problem, except the benches are one per name maximum – no duplicates.
$10,008 Donation
At the $10,008 donation level, the following gifts and recognitions are available:
- One of the student dormitories will be sponsored by you and named after you (limited to 34 dormitories, with the first 3 dorms being named Kūrma Ashram, Ramā Ashram, and Bali Ashram). (An unbelievable and rare opportunity! Who saw this coming? A college dormitory named after you?! Everyone knows these should really be at the $100,008 level!)
- Membership in the Mystic Order of Bali (limited to 108 Memberships).
On Names
For naming benches and dormitories and so on, we will always take the spiritual name. For uninitiated ethnic Indians, we will take the first or last name, whichever appears most appropriate. For anyone from other countries who does not have a spiritual name, we will take the last name. And if a dormitory is named in this way, it will be called “Hall” or “Lodge” instead of “Ashram.” So if an Ivan Lavrov from Russia has had nothing to do Krishna Consciousness, but is into vegetarianism, and donates to name a dorm, that dorm would be named “Lavrov Hall.” There will be International Cuisines at the Institute, and some of the dorms and benches may have an international flavor as well. Also, if a disciple wants to donate to name a dorm or bench after their Vaiṣṇava guru, that is alright. Also, if a donor does not have a Hindu spiritual name, but a spiritual name from another tradition, we would probably take that over their last name. For instance, if a Westerner had been initiated into a Native American tradition and received the name Sun Bear, we would do a “Sun Bear Lodge” rather than using their last name. We reserve the right to decline names that appear inappropriate.

In closing now, donating to help accomplish spiritual projects is recommended by the Ācāryas, and we think everyone will agree that this is a highly worthy project, especially as it concerns quality of the prasād and the offerings to the deities. Beyond that, we are creating a practical path for future generations to become expert vegetarian cooks, creating so many Culinary Institute positions that will be filled by devotees, and very strongly supporting the artists with many commissions. So please do take this opportunity to contribute generously, get yourself an Ocean of Milk Insignia button or other gear, join one of the Mystic Orders, and so on. It is described in Śrīmad Bhāgavatam 8:6:31 how Mahārāja Bali immediately agreed to take part in the Churning of the Milk Ocean: “The proposals submitted by King Indra were immediately accepted by Bali Mahārāja and his assistants.” Why did Bali Mahārāja immediately accept the proposals? Why didn’t he think about them for a day or two, or a week or two? It was because Bali Mahārāja was extremely intelligent, and could immediately understand the importance and rightness of agreeing at once to participate. And so we urge all who hear of this great endeavor to demonstrate a similar level of great intelligence, and just like Bali Mahārāja, to immediately agree and contribute generously.
