We are very happy to be announcing the very first Ocean of Milk Open Art Contest, to design the Ocean of Milk Insignia. The Insignia would be 2-3 inches in diameter, and can be presented as a 2D button, or in 3D carved into stone (if the entry is something like a painting). For the art medium, we will certainly accept paintings (like a small 2 by 2 painting), drawings with pen or crayons, wood prints, CAD, sculptures, or other suitable medium. The design can be submitted in 2D or 3D, whatever works best for the artist and the medium.
This Insignia will be the symbol of the Culinary Institute Project, and as such should draw from the project itself which can be found here, and possibly also the Mystic Orders which can be found here. Probably most important though is to review the 8th Canto of Śrīmad Bhāgavatam, where the churning of the Milk Ocean is described. If any elements are included in the design that aren’t very obvious, please do let us know about them along with your submission.
As for who is eligible to enter this contest, everyone is welcome, young and old alike.
The first-place prize money on this will be $504. This is just a small art project, but we want to reward the winning entry nicely, since we are fundraising from the art.
The deadline for submitting entries will be the 20th of September. We will post up the entries, accept some comments and feedback from visitors to the site, and then make a decision about the winner.
It should be clearly understood that the rights to artistic submissions become the property of the Ocean of Milk Foundation, and that the work will be used for fundraising purposes.

Many more artistic contests and commissions are on the way, but they are dependent on your generous support.
